New Recipe I Tried

Oh my goodness!!! I found an awesome recipe and love this lady's site. If you love zucchini, then you will love this recipe. I had only one zucchini, but I cooked it anyway this way. Love it! Hubby really liked it, too.  I would like it if you would check out her site. http://www.kalynskitchen.com/2011/07/recipe-for-easy-cheesy-zucchini-bake.html carries you to the recipe I tried.      Kayln's Kitchen is the home page. I hope you find it useful. I know I will find more recipes to use on my journey to get healthy. I have been doing very well, in my opinion, being off wheat and other grains for going on two weeks now. I have been off my diet drinks for three weeks on Sept. 4th. I can't believe I've done it. If you knew how much I love my Diet Pepsi's and my carbohydrates (bread, chips, cake, sweets, etc.) you would be amazed, too. So far, I have lost almost seven pounds. Yes, seven pounds!!! Excited? Well, just a little! LOL

I want to be honest with you all. Dr. Davis teaches that we need to use coconut oil in many ways. I know that coconut oil is the highest saturated fat there is. But, I will use it occasionally and may start using it after my showers as a moisturizer. It is supposedly very good for our skin. I desperately need to do something for my skin. It is sooooooo dry. I just may give it a try, soon. I guess I will get accustomed to smelling like suntan lotion. LOL Some people on the Wheat Belly Facebook page talks about it not working for everyone and some have gotten sick. I don't know why, but I do believe that getting off wheat and other grains has been very good for me so far. I have a lot of weight to lose, but I want to help my fibromyalgia and arthritis and hopefully get rid of my sleep apnea. For some reason, I am not sleeping well lately and my CPAP masks aggravate me so bad. I am so tired of not sleeping well. I have too many projects to work on and my housework and laundry to do. So, I promise myself to stay the course and get in better shape.

Another good recipe blog is Gourmet Girl Cooks. She makes Wheat Belly compliant recipes. She has some awesome looking food she prepares and posts about. Check her out, too.

One more good site that my daughter uses frequently is Gina's Skinnytaste. She also cooks low carb recipes. I would like for you to check her out, too, if you are looking for healthy recipes.

All three of these are on Pinterest, also. I know Gourmet Girl Cooks is also on Facebook. I believe the others are, too.

We have had a great weekend. We spent some time with our son yesterday and he cooked us lunch. No, I didn't eat any bread. Yes, I ate healthy. LOL  It was great. His wife was working, so we didn't get to visit with her. Hopefully soon, the four of us can get together and do something fun. Today has been a lazy day for me. I have spent time with the dogs, watched a little Flashpoint on TV, and was on the computer. I had planned to go to church this morning, but got up stopped up and with a headache, so that was a no go.

We found out this week that our nephew and his ship mates on the USS San Antonio are off the coast of Syria. Please pray for them and the ones on the destroyers that are there in waiting for orders from the President. I pray that this does not come to fruition. America does NOT need to get into a war with Syria.  Help me pray for our country and what is happening in our world.

I pray your weekend has been great and nothing serious has happened in your families. So many are needing prayers. Keep me in yours, if you will. Hopefully, soon, I will have another handbag to show you and some quilting. Stay with me.

Hugs,
Teresa

  1. Hi Teresa. Congrats on losing 7 pounds!!!
The zucchini looks delicious. I need to do more of this type of recipe.

I helped my skin a lot by starting to make my own soap. Now, I realize everyone can't do that. But you can buy soap that is really soap and not detergent. Good soap will list ingredients such as sodium olivate (olive oil that has been saponifed or made into soap) sodium castorate (castor oil saponified) sodium cocoate (coconut oil saponified) etc. All real soap is made of oils that are saponified.
Don't think that "sodium lauryl sulfate" is a good thing...it is harsh on the skin. Most common bath bars contain it.
(sorry for the "treatise" on soap - I got carried away.)

  2. I'm going to try this recipe Teresa...I love zucchini. I'd love to know what you're drinking instead of diet drinks...did you switch to water? And how did you get past the caffeine craving? Blessings, Marlene
