Happy Easter

I want to wish all my followers a Happy Easter! I woke up this morning with the hymn "He Lives" on my mind. I sang the chorus several times while doing my morning duties in the kitchen. It felt really good to remember what Jesus did for me and for you. He may have been crucified for our sins, but I am so thankful that He didn't stay in the borrowed tomb. He arose and lives today at the right hand of the Father. I know He lives, because He lives within my heart.

I pray that you and your family had a blessed Easter weekend. I would have loved to have been with my children today, but that did not happen. I would love to have watched my awesome grandson hunt Easter eggs, but we were not with him. Thankfully, he and his Mommy will be here this week for a visit. I am looking forward to that.

I have been cleaning around the house preparing for their visit. Both beds now have clean sheets and the rooms have been dusted. I still have to vacuum and mop the floors and dust the rest of the house. That will be done tomorrow. Hubby has already cleaned the bathroom. He has plans to cut grass tomorrow, hopefully, getting ready for some yard time with Jackson and the puppies.

Speaking of the puppies, they are doing so much better. I pray it stays that way. It is so much fun to watch them play with each other. Dusty has been picking at Blaze off and on all day trying to get him to play with her. He finally did while we ate supper.

On the quilting front, I have to sew the crazy quilt pillow tops to their backs and put in the pillow forms where I can get them mailed. Hope I can finish the bed runner soon, too. I'm trying to decide what kind of quilt I want to make for the spare bedroom. It has a comforter on it now that we've had for several years. It needs to be replaced with a pretty quilt. Just what pattern do I want to do? Do I want to make the room a "country" style room with a scrappy quilt, or more romantic with flowers/roses, etc. Or, do I want to make it my American Indian decor room? I just don't know what to do.

I guess I will go for now. Take care and be creative!

Hugs!

Crazy Quilt Pillow Tops are Done

Here are the two crazy quilt pillow blocks I've made. This is my first time I've ever created something like this. I read a lot online and looked a a lot of pictures. I ordered some items from Etsy, and used fabrics from the crazy quilt I made for this client. She loves pastel colors and the 30s fabrics, so I added a couple of darker fabrics to enhance the look. I would like to make some smaller blocks and work on hand embroidery and more silk ribbon embroidery. I enjoyed learning more about this type of quilting, and need to know more. I think, for my first attempt, they don't look too bad.

Now, I have to sew the backing onto the pillows and insert the pillow forms and close up the hole. I pray it goes on easy without any problems. I can't wait to see how they turn out!!! Now I have to finish the yoyo bed runner I'm making and two pillow to go with that and another new type of project for me: landscape type quilt block and make it into a pillow. I am definitely going out of my comfort zone for this awesome customer of mine.

Make sure you check out today's Stitch Me Up Blog Hop posts. It will continue until tomorrow.

Stitch Me Up Blog Hop is Ongoing!

I have been seeing some awesome embroidery during this blog hop. If you are in the least interested in embroidery, then this is the blog hop you need to check out! I have the bug I believe! These awesome ladies have definitely given me the push to try my hand at embroidery, so as soon as I can get a chance, I will definitely try some. :D Way to go ladies!

I also want to thank Madame Samm at Sew We Quilt for designing such great blog hops for bloggers and non-bloggers to participate in. She even provides a blog place for these non-bloggers to blog about their project! Isn't that awesome? I am so proud of the ones who had never embroidered, but wanted to try to step out of their comfort zone and commit to doing this blog hop and show their work. As I said earlier, I've seen some awesome embroidery! None I've seen from anyone looked none other than great. Jane from Jane's Fabrics and Quilts is the cheerleader for this blog hop. Thank you Jane for doing an fantastic job!

Tuesday's News

Good Tuesday afternoon! I hope you all are well and working hard on your projects! I have been working on the second crazy quilt pillow top today. I have all the decorative stitching done and have added some lace motifs, buttons, etc. I guess you could say I'm cheating on these pillows by doing the decorative stitching with my Janome Horizon 7700 machine. I have never done embroidery by hand before, and feel the stitches would look so much better using my machine.

I hope the ladies don't mind, but I would like to introduce you to two of the Etsy stores that I have purchased items from for the pillows. One I have purchased some fabric pieces to use in the pillows, and the other one I have purchased some awesome hand-dyed lace motifs which I haven't received, yet.

Cathy's Etsy Store: she has some fabric packs for crazy quilting, lace motifs, and more!
Nicki's Etsy Store: she has some beautiful hand-dyed lace motifs for crazy quilting and more!

Please check out these ladies stores. I have been very please with what I have seen and received.

Don't forget about the blog hop starting tomorrow. If you love embroidery, then this is the hop for you! Check my last post for the schedule.

Hugs to you all!
